As we grow, there is a need for:

New Member Sponsors

God’s spirit is moving in our midst and many people are responding.  We want to provide a loving and nurturing environment for all our new members to connect with Christ and become active in our church.  New member sponsors will be our special ministry to help new people discover and develop their gifts for ministry and strengthen their relationship with God through spiritual growth.

New members need assistance in making connections to experience all the benefits of membership.  New member Sponsors or Sponsoring couples become “special friends” who help new members become active through participation.  The welcoming spirit of our whole membership encourages new people to connect with us, but the ministry of our new member Sponsors help them blend into our family of faith.

New Member Sponsor Ministry

1. Sponsors will be the relational contact and informational source for new members for one year, and will seek to be a blessing and inspiration to them.
2. Sponsors will be responsible for having a photograph taken of their new member(s) as soon as possible for a “New Members” Bulletin Board.
3. Sponsors will contact new members after they join to deliver a membership packet, explain our church’s ministries, programs, and structures, and invite them to participate with their time, talent and treasure.
4. Sponsors will make another contact within a week to pick up the completed information forms, answer any questions they may have about the church, and return the forms to the church office.
5. After talking with new members about their talents and interests, Sponsors will assist them in becoming involved in the fellowship, study and ministry groups necessary for their spiritual growth and service in Christ.
6. Sponsors will make frequent contacts during the first six weeks of membership, inviting them to all special activities in the church, and accompanying them whenever possible.
7. Sponsors will accompany their new friend to the New Member Dinner, and will encourage them during this first year to consider becoming sponsors in the following year.
